Pageant of the Masters

At Pageant of the Masters, Laguna's most impressive event and part of the city's annual Festival of Arts, live models and carefully orchestrated backgrounds are arranged in striking mimicry of classical and contemporary paintings. The festival usually takes place in July and August.

Orange County Performing Arts Center contains a 3,000-seat facility for opera, ballet, symphony, and musicals. Among the major touring companies featured are the American Ballet Theater and the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. Richard Lippold's enormous Firebird, a sculpture of polished metal that resembles a bird taking flight, extends outward from the glass-enclosed lobby. Free, backstage tours are conducted Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays at 10:30 AM.
